LCA Story of the Week:

When the LCANZ was contacted by a member of La Jolla Lutheran Church in California USA because of that church’s ‘Bibles for the Nations’ project, Local Mission Executive Officer Tania Nelson soon realised this ‘out-of-the-blue’ connection was no coincidence – rather it was a sign of God’s goodness in blessing ‘all peoples on earth’.

Prayers for the Week:

· For those in authority, such as Queen Elizabeth and her representatives; Prime Minister Scott Morrison and members of parliament; Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and state parliamentarians; and Mayor Paul McVeigh and local councillors; that they would have the wisdom to look beyond the here and now and plan for future generations

· For the Church, LCAQD; that the church would always remain ready and watchful for the coming of Christ

· For the pastors Bishop John Henderson, District Bishop Mark Vainikka; Pastor Joel Pukallus and all pastors; for the messengers of God: pastors and bishops, evangelists and missionaries

· For those who, like Paul, are imprisoned for their faith

· For the rulers of the earth, especially for our own state and federal governments

· For those who have sinned, that they repent and believe in Christ

· That we prepare the way for the gospel by pursuing justice in our society

· That just as we await summer and the harvest and holidays, we may be prepared for the coming day of the Lord
