LCA Story of the Week:

The LCANZ gives thanks for the service of Australian Lutheran Hanna Schulz, who has marked 10 years since she arrived in Papua New Guinea to start working with the people there through Bible translation. Read the full story here


St Matthew’s Lutheran Church Open Garden:

Highland Plains Open Garden – 2082 Oakey Cooyar Rd – Saturday 14th May – 10am-3pm. Entry fee $5, children under 12 free. Food and drinks for sale. More info on noticeboard.


Replenish Women’s Retreat:

LYQ Winter Camps:

Winter Kids Camp is a beautiful mix of learning about God, spending time outdoors and enjoying games with friends …. lots of good clean fun and laughter! Every morning we’ll spend time in worship and learning about God and then in the afternoons we’ll take advantage of the wide-open spaces at camp to play some epic games!

Location: Luther Heights Youth Camp, Coolum

Price: $365 for the first 30 campers, $405 standard pricing. Registrations are now open!


CLW:

CLW (Christian Life Week) is a five-day camp for high school aged campers that is centred on an unforgettable experience of faith, fun and friendship. This winter we’re offering 4 CLW camps, two in the first week and two in the second week of the school holidays. CLW is a life-changing week filled with daily worship and study time, epic wide games and life-long friends, led by an inspirational bunch of Christian leaders.

Dates: WEEK 1 - 27 June – 1 July 2022 – WEEK 2 – 4 – 8 July

Location: Luther Heights Youth Camp, Coolum and Koojarewon Youth Camp, Highfields

Prayers for the Week:

· For those in authority, such as Queen Elizabeth and her representatives; Prime Minister Scott Morrison and members of parliament; Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and state parliamentarians; and Mayor Paul McVeigh and local councillors; for the nations of the world, that they may receive the blessing of peace

· For the Church, LCAQD; that the light of Christ would shine in the church, so that all may see it and be drawn to faith in God

· For the pastors Bishop Paul smith, District Bishop Mark Vainikka; Pastor Joel Pukallus and all pastors; as they shepherd the flock of Christ

· For those who are suffering for their faith

· For all who rule and govern, that they may be shepherds to their people

· For the dying and those who mourn, that God would be present with them as they walk through the valley of the shadow of death

· For those who have become lost on the path of life

· For those who do not have enough to eat

· For those who mourn the death of a loved one, that they may be comforted by the hope of the resurrection
