The Sundays after Pentecost (known as the "non-festival" season of the church year) are the Sundays in which we concentrate on the growth of the church.
They begin with Trinity Sunday, and ends with "Christ the King" Sunday, where we focus on the end times, and the second coming of our Lord Jesus.
The Gospel lessons for this season concentrate on the teaching and ministry of Jesus. The Old Testament and Epistle lessons have a semi-continuous narrative, with the Revised Common Lectionary (which we customarily use) giving two options for the Old Testament lessons, either the stories of the Patriarchs through Genesis and Exodus, or the Prophets.
The liturgical colour for the Sundays after Pentecost (which comprises roughly half of the church year) is green, as this symbolises new life and growth.

Glenmorgan Caravanning and Working Bee Weekend: August 7 – 10
Come out ‘west’ for a time of fun, fellowship and community service
Those with caravans/campers will be camping in Meandarra on the banks of Brigalow Creek or if you prefer more comfort, the Meandarra Pub has rooms (07) 4665 6183.
Saturday afternoon (8 August, 1 pm): Working Bee at the Glenmorgan Community Church to thoroughly clean the interior – please bring a bucket, cloths, etc.
This will be followed by a BBQ at the Church hosted by Mike and Beris Ludwig
Sunday Morning Church Service with HC at Glenmorgan starts at 9:30 am

Black Hymnals:
We currently have many boxes of Black Lutheran Hymnal in the storage container. If anyone would have a use for these or would like some, please talk to Lois Strand.
Lost Property:
There is a Lost Property Box in the Narthex with 4 water bottles, a jumper and a pair of reading glasses in it – if you think they could be yours please have a look.
Walk My Way is officially happening here in Dalby!
We can make truly life changing and generational difference to Girls in Refugee Camps by giving them the gift of education and hope for a future. How good it would be to see 50 girls supported by our Western Downs Team!

Samaritan’s Purse - Operation Christmas Child:
Packing a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child is a wonderful way to share God’s love, joy and hope with children in need around the world.
Start by collecting a shoebox from the narthex and choose whether it will be for a boy or girl, as well as the appropriate age group.
Fill your shoebox with a variety of thoughtful gifts, such as:
School supplies: pencils, erasers, notebooks, crayons
Personal care items: toothbrush, comb, washcloth
Clothing and accessories: hat, watch, sunglasses
Fun items: small toys, games, balls or other gifts that will bring delight
You may also like to include a personal note and photo to encourage the child who receives your gift.
Once your shoebox is packed, please pray for the child who will receive it and return it to the Church Office no later than 11 October.
Each shoebox is far more than a gift of practical items. It is a tangible expression of love and encouragement that reaches children across the world.
If possible, please include $12.50 per box to help cover collection, processing, shipping and other project costs. Thank you for helping make a difference in a child's life.

for people who work in the media: journalism, newspapers, TV, radio
for the unemployed and the underemployed, the overworked, and those with difficulties in their work
for people who are disabled and those who care for them
