Together Sharing Christ’s Love

Welcome to:

Redeemer, Macalister

St Mark’s, Dalby

Liturgical Colour: Green

The Sundays after Pentecost (known as the "non-festival" season of the Church Year) are the Sundays in which we concentrate on the growth of the Church.

They begin with Trinity Sunday, and ends with "Christ the King" Sunday, where we focus on the end times, and the second coming of our Lord Jesus.

The Gospel lessons for this season concentrate on the teaching and ministry of Jesus.  The Old Testament and Epistle lessons have a semi-continuous narrative, with the Revised Common Lectionary (which we customarily use) giving two options for the Old Testament lessons, either the stories of the Patriarchs through Genesis and Exodus, or the Prophets.

The liturgical colour for the Sundays after Pentecost (which comprises roughly half of the church year) is green, as this symbolises new life and growth.

Thank You - from Norma’s Family

To Pastor Joel and Norma’s St Marks Church family;

Thank you for your thoughts, prayers and practical support during this time of Norma’s passing, and her Funeral.  There were so many people involved in making Norma’s funeral a special celebration of thanksgiving to God for her life, and her example of servanthood.

From service preparation, music and singing, sound, cleaning, setting up, ushering, baking, serving, clean up, and many other seen and unseen jobs.  It truly was an example of the Body of Christ working together to serve God, through many gifts and talents.  We are so grateful to everyone.  We are also very thankful to all those who visited, and provided pastoral care with services and communion, in the time Norma was at Ningana and Karingal.  Sincere thanks and God bless.  Hensel Family

Prayer Points for the Week:

  • for the church, that it may not store up riches on earth, but riches in heaven

  • for the leaders of our nation, that they may use the resources of this land and its people for the good of all

  • for the wealthy of the world, that they may learn generosity

  • for those addicted to any form of gambling, that they may be set free

  • for those who put all their trust in their earthly possessions, that they may seek the true riches that come from God

  • for the poor, that they may not lose hope in God
