24th March 2024 - Palm Sunday

Together Sharing Christ’s Love

Welcome to:

Redeemer, Macalister

St Mark’s, Dalby

Liturgical Colour: Violet

Palm Sunday is the Christian holiday that commemorates the entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem a week before his crucifixion.  According to the biblical account, Jesus rode into the city on a donkey while the crowds shouted "Hosanna" and laid palm branches on the ground before him.  This event is significant to Christians as it represents the fulfillment of prophecy and the beginning of the Holy Week leading up to Easter.  Many churches celebrate Palm Sunday by distributing palm fronds or branches to the congregation and re-enacting the procession of Jesus into Jerusalem.
