Macalister AGM:
Macalister AGM will be held on Wednesday 16 February at 7pm at the Macalister church
Festival of Learning: Speaking Many Languages, Hearing One Voice – 16-19 February
Facilitated by Australian Lutheran College (ALC), this online festival will be an ecumenical celebration that includes introductory sessions to biblical languages, theology, practical and applied theology, and dialogues with the wider church. Topics include: Deaf ministry in the LCA; Ecotheology; Changing ministry contexts; Women and the Australian Church; Creating space to hear and receive Indigenous voices—just to name a few. Attend just one festival session, every time slot available, or anything in between. There are no restrictions—you can participate in any sessions that interest you. Prayers for the Week:
· For those in authority, such as Queen Elizabeth and her representatives; Prime Minister Scott Morrison and members of parliament; Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and state parliamentarians; and Mayor Paul McVeigh and local councillors; that they would have the wisdom to look beyond the here and now and plan for future generations
· For the Church, LCAQD; that it may be faithful to the tradition which it has received from the apostles
· For the pastors Bishop John Henderson, District Bishop Mark Vainikka; Pastor Joel Pukallus and all pastors; for the preaching of the word of God, that Christ may be made known
· For all members of our congregation, that we might be fishers of people
· For those who are called to serve as prophets in our land today, that they may be faithful to their calling even if their message is not welcome
· For all who are burdened by guilt and sin, that they may know the forgiveness of Christ
· For all people, that they may be diligent in their proper vocation
· For those who are seeking employment, and for those who are preparing to enter the work force
· For the fishing industry, that it may use the resources of the sea wisely
· For those who are sick or dying, that they may know the presence of the Lord
