Liturgical Colour: Green

The Sundays after Pentecost (known as the "non-festival" season of the Church Year) are the Sundays in which we concentrate on the growth of the Church.

They begin with Trinity Sunday, and ends with "Christ the King" Sunday, where we focus on the end times, and the second coming of our Lord Jesus.

The Gospel lessons for this season concentrate on the teaching and ministry of Jesus.  The Old Testament and Epistle lessons have a semi-continuous narrative, with the Revised Common Lectionary (which we customarily use) giving two options for the Old Testament lessons, either the stories of the Patriarchs through Genesis and Exodus, or the Prophets.

The liturgical colour for the Sundays after Pentecost (which comprises roughly half of the church year) is green, as this symbolises new life and growth.

Donations for Exterior Painting of St Mark’s Church Plant:

Our Church building has now been painted. We are seeking donations/pledges to continue this work and cover the cost of painting the Hall and Sunday School Rooms later in the year.  Thank you for your continued support!

The SMRUC is seeking a couple of new Members to join their Committee – Please see Murray Paschke if you are interested or would like to know more about the Committee.

As mentioned at the AGM it would be great to see some more People interested in joining the Pastoral Assistants Team or as a Lay Server – Please see Val Steinhardt if you are interested or would like to know about either of the Roles.

The LCA has thanked all Congregations – including St Mark’s – who have completed their Child Safety Standards Action Plan (CSSAP) – a lengthy process required to be undertaken by Congregations every 3 years.

  • for God's Servants who have been commissioned to make God's Word known to the World

  • for Students in Christian Schools, Sunday Schools, Bible Study Programs, and Seminaries, that they may yearn to sit at Jesus' feet and learn from his Word

  • for those who are distracted by the worries of this life from the things of God

  • for protection against the harmful effects of the mass media and advertising

  • for Christian families, that they spend time together in prayer and devotion

  • for all Christians, that we may learn to sit at Jesus' feet
